Megolon Disposal

Following the published sale of the market leading Megolon® range of zero halogen, fire retardant, low smoke and fume compounds (LSFOH) in October 2006 to AlphaGary Corporation, a subsidiary of the Rockwood Specialities Inc, Scapa have moved forward in their published intention to increase their focus on the European Speciality tapes market.

The divestment of the halogen free compound range will allow Scapa to further their investment in their core focus ranges of technical tapes and foams distributed to the full range of Industrial, Automotive, Medical and Construction markets across Europe.

In addition, Scapa will continue to manufacture and supply a broad range of tape based products into the cable manufacturing sector, continuing their expertise and experience in this area. This includes an extensive range of cable wrapping tapes plus specialised cable component products such as self-amalgamating tapes, putties and resins. 

Scapa will continue to invest in technology, research and development, furthering their ability to meet the demands of an ever-changing market place, and provide their customers with the innovative technical solutions they need to meet their specific application requirements.

Key products currently being introduced by Scapa include a new range of Exafit® high performance foam plate mounting tapes, for the printing and graphics market, and further advances in their already established waterproof cloth tapes range.
