Sealants Disposal
Scapa are pleased to announce the sale of its Sealants operations to Hodgson Sealants in February 2007. Scapa’s £7m sales business, produced at its Lymington Hampshire manufacturing site, will transfer to Hodgson Sealants ownership, along with 71 people, with the majority being based at that site. This move follows the Scapa Groups published intention, following a strategic review of the business, to re-focus on their core business of speciality adhesive tapes.
Commenting on the sale, Scapa Chief Executive Calvin O’Connor said "The sale of our sealants business represents another successful step in the implementation of Scapa’s recovery strategy, with this deal being the third disposal from our peripheral operations".
Scapa sealant products were predominately sold into the construction market and Scapa will continue to manufacture and supply a broad range of tape based products into this and other key industrial sectors, continuing their focus on core tape products. |
